March of the Living

MARCH OF THE LIVING TAKES NCSY AND TORAH HIGH TEENS ON A JOURNEY FROM POLAND TO ISRAEL

Thirty Torah High students enrolled in the March of the Living course travelled to Poland and Israel, together with their course instructor Yafit Atlas and Rabbi Mark Rose, NCSY Thornhill Director, for the March of the Living. The students visited Poland, where Jewish life once flourished for close to a millennia. The students marched from Auschwitz to Birkenau, retracing the steps that Jews had taken when marching to their deaths. The students glimpsed the face of evil for just a few days before travelling to Israel, signaling the possibility of rebirth and light with the founding of the state of Israel. From the worst of humanity, the students celebrated hope, with visits to Masada, the Dead Sea, the Kotel, and Jerusalem.
